School of Pre-University was established on October 26, 2007. The School has the task of teaching additional knowledge of high school curriculum subjects for students from ethnic minorities, remote areas, border areas and islands belonging to provinces in the Mekong Delta.
The purpose of teaching is to help students consolidate the basic knowledge of the high school program systematically, practice critical thinking skill and acquire active learning methods so that they are able to study effectively at university level.
From 2013 to present, every year, School of Pre-University has been organizing classes to teach additional knowledge for directly admitted students from 22 poor districts, remote areas, border areas, and islands with socio-economic difficulties in the Mekong Delta. During one school year, students with direct admission will learn four basic subjects including Math, Literature, English, and Basic Informatics according to Can Tho University's own training program and regulations.
